Seaplane Flight Services Malta
Seaplane flight services from Malta and Gozo to Sicily expected soon. Harbour Air, which operates a seaplane service between Malta and Gozo, plans to start a Malta and Gozo to Sicily operation.
The 50-minute flights will operate from Mgarr harbour to Catania airport. This will be a great opportunity for conference delegates in Malta to visit Sicily and vice-versa. A round trip flight is expected to cost €150 and €210. Business Meetings Malta will offer this as an incentrive travel package to conference delegates during their stay in Malta. The new service is expected to boost Malta and Gozo's tourism industry and give the islands more exposure, publicity and income.
Harbour Air is currently operating 10 minute flight from Malta International Airport to Mgarr harbour as well as from Valletta Grand Harbour to Mgarr. Since its twin otter type aircraft is amphibian, it can land both on land and sea, and can seat up to 17 passengers. The company also runs 30 minute scenic flights around the Maltese Islands from Grand Harbour, Valletta.
