Malta added on Disney's Cruise Destinations
The Incentive Travel Market in Malta is set to benefit from Disney Cruises as Malta will be included in their itineraries as from 2010.
"The response from guests who sailed on our Mediterranean voyages in 2007 was overwhelmingly positive," said Disney Cruise Line President Tom McAlpin. "We're thrilled to bring the ship back and look to make the 2010 season in the Mediterranean even better, with new destinations and more one-of-a-kind Disney experiences for our guests."
Construction of the Disney Dream, the first of two new Disney Cruise Liners, has begun at a shipyard in Germany, with plans for the 1,240-stateroom vessel to begin service from Port Canaveral in 2011, the cruise line company announced recently. The Disney Fantasy will begin service a year later from the Florida port, with the combined new capacity of the two ships more than doubling the capacity of Disney Cruise Line. An expansion project is under way at the port to accommodate the larger ships and additional guests.
Disney Cruise Line will expand its itineraries in summer 2010 from Europe. Disney Magic will be deployed for a full five-month season to Northern Europe and Mediterranean shores. The Disney Magic will be in the Mediterranean with 10 and 11-night cruises and three new ports of call - Malta, Tunisia and Corsica - in addition to popular ports in Italy, France and Spain. Departing out of Barcelona in Spain, the Disney Magic will sail four 10-night and four 11-night cruises in the Mediterranean in April through to September.
Disney Magic will be visiting northern Europe for the first time, with ports of call at Warnemunde Germany, which is the gateway to Berlin, St Petersburg, Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm on sailings from Dover, England.
Disney Wonder, which sails from Port Canaveral, will sail from the port of Los Angeles beginning in 2011.
