CIT Magazine Article on Business Meetings Malta

CIT Conference and Incentive Travel Magazine has recently published an article highlighting the role undertaken by Business Meetings Malta as a DMC in assisting Richardsons' visit to Malta.

 Global Sales Conference in Malta.

Business Meetings Malta were asked by Richardson RFDP to provide all the necessary DMC assistance for their global sales conference in Malta held on 15th to 19th March 2011.

Mary Eymery, sales operation director in the UK office of Richardson RFPD explains why the Mediterranean island of Malta, is one of her favourite conference and incentive destinations.

Malta is great for events because ..

... the agreeable climate and island history offer a stimulating and motivational environment. There is a also a fantastic range of hotels to choose from and activities to suit all tastes.

Our favourite hotel for this event

Grand Excelsior in Floriana offers spectacular views over Valetta. The hotel is five-star and more than lives up to this rating. It catered well for our group, which included 120 people from all over the world. The rooms were fabulous and everyone had a sea view. Whatever we requested, we had it in two minutes, and whValletta Team Building Activityen some of our equipment got stuck at a nearby depot, the hotel's group events coordinator went to collect it and even carried all the heavy boxes to the car.

Our favourite restaurant

One of my highlights was eating at the Xlukkarjr restaurant in Marsaxlokk. It's a small, traditional family restaurant but the level of service was outstanding. I would also recommend the food at the Grand Excelsior.

After dark

We held gala and awards dinners during the conference so we organised our own in-house entertainment. Business Meetings Malta sourced out a local band, musicians and a karaoke night. When I first mentioned karaoke to my team, there wasn't much enthusiasm, but after an hour or two, the competitive spirit kicked in and everyone, including the company president, was singing their hearts out.

With an unlimited incentive budget I would ...

Theresa Delia from Business Meetings Malta also assisted us in sourcing out an Events company to organize outdoor team activities. These included a walking treasure hunt around Valetta, called the Valetta Quest, and we also took part in beach soccer, volleyball and archery, which all added to the event's competitive spirit. Moreover, Business Meetings Malta organised a golf tournament at the Royal Malta Golf Club which turned out to be a big success with the team. If I had an unlimited budget, I would have hired a boat for a cruise around Malta inclusive of lunch.

Best way to get around

We used Supreme Coaches for all of our transportation requirements. This included an open-top bus tour of Malta on a Saturday afternoon. Theresa Delia of Business Meetings Malta was an accomplished tour guide and we toured the Presidential Gardens and visited Rabat during the Feast of St Joseph.
