Theresa Delia
Theresa is a Maltese National and is the CEO - Chief Executive Officer o
f Business Meetings Malta Limited (BMM), a Maltese registered Limited Liability company which she set up in 2008. The company is a venue searching company and is also a licensed Destination Management (DMC) Company. Business Meetings Malta is moreover specialized in organizing golf schools and junior golf tournaments. The company is seeking to develop this particular niche market within Europe. Fluent in several languages, for many years she was one of Malta's foremost licensed guides, specialising firstly in culture then in conference meetings, carefully selecting venues for all types of business meetings. She later became PR executive to the Minister for Culture and Education and later still assistant PA to the Chairman at Air Malta where she could apply her organizational skills.
In 1997 she successfully gained her M.Phil from the University of the West of England, Bristol, with her thesis based upon examining the competitiveness of Malta as a destination for conference and incentive tourism. Since that time, she became an associate with the Welsh based firm Stevens and Associates looking after their interests in the eastern Mediterranean region as well as Malta. Moreover, for a number of years, Theresa was a board member of the Hotels and Catering Establishment Board and subsequently at the Malta Tourism Authority's Enforcement Directorate responsible for setting and maintaining standards within the industry.
In December 2010, she was selected by the Malta Chamber of Commerce to form part of the group that will represent Malta's interests as ambassador for female entrepreneurs at the European Union - A project for Small Medium Enterprises, which will run till 2012. No doubt it is a role that definitely suits Theresa's character as she was always strongly motivated in taking on and adapting to new challenges especially those that dealt with organizing her family life with her work commitments. Like many other married women with two children and an ever changing selection of domestic pets Theresa has managed to achieve her goals and is now looking forward to assisting other aspiring female entrepreneurs.
With a reputation for professionalism, effectiveness and flair, Theresa strongly believes in that spirit of enterprise and commitment that has inspired her to start the company. Her past experiences have helped her to develop those valuable skills that can add real value to the success of any business and sporting event. She strongly believes in giving that personal touch and advice to all of her business meeting clients assisting and supporting them in organizing their events.
